food for the kick-off of this big Vintage event.

Women Pioneers of MX were
honored this year at Diamond Don's Vintage race.

Legendary MX racer Dick
Mann was on hand to race his BSA at 74 years young.

The Australian National
Champs were on hand to race in the sidecar class. The VMX
magazine owner flew in to record the event for the Aussies.

It was the Leblanc's
first vintage race. Matt (left) is also a road racer with the
Triumph Team, his Dad "Muff" was state MX champ in the 175 class
in the early 70's. At right is his brother Tom who built his
trick motors back in the day. Alson with brother Ernie they now
ride for the LA G2G team.

This AJS proves that Old School riders
and bikes can still take on the elements.

G2G founder Mac
Edmonston won 3 out of 4 motos, even beating Oklahoma hotshoe
Elbert Simon, who was himself undefeated in other classes.

Billy Orazio kept the
G2G Vintage Team Hondas running all weekend. He brought about
seven of his own to compete.

The
High School Motocross
Program is starting a new chapter in the
Covington/Hammond area starting on Tuesday night, May 20th.
There will be a meeting with Mac Edmonston, coaches,
participants and parents at 6:00pm at CCR MX track. This is for
7th-12th graders only who have their own MX bikes and gear. Come
ready to register and ride.

Robbie Burgess
retires from MX track management at Competition Cycle Ranch
due to personal health (a series of strokes). He and Sue pass
the management of the popular track to son Nicholas and his wife
Angela. They will be practicing on Thursday nights only for a
while.

Championships at the World Mini Gran Prix in Vegas.
Destrehan's Stone Edler won the 65 mod and 65 stock
classes. Lafayette's Lance Vincent won the 85 (14-15)
class. Congratulations guys!

Diamond Don's 6th
Annual Riverport Vintage National was a huge success. This
is the biggest vintage celebration this side of Mid-Ohio. Even
VMX magazine was on hand from Australia to file a report and
they say they don't have a vintage race that big. Sponsored by
AHRMA's Legends of MX, CC and Trials Series, competition dirt
bikes from as far back as the 50's were on hand to compete,
right up to the early 80 models. MX Pioneer Women were on hand
to race and be honored. MX Legends Brad Lackey, Chuck Sun, Marty
Tripes and Donnie Hansen were on hand to race and hang out. The

The Southeast Region National
Championship qualifiers for 2008 is history. This
Loretta Lynn AMA qualifier was held at Gravity Alley MX in Breaux Bridge

The 2008
Daytona Supercross
will go down in history as one of the most exciting, but
slow races ever as torrential rain turned the RC designed track
into the kind of slop that 4wd trucks like to run through. LA
native Kevin Windham won for the first time out of 8 tries,
passing Chad Reed a few turns before the finish line. OK rookie
Trey Canard continues to impress with another victory in the
Lites class.
The Louisiana High
School Motocross Program kicks off on Sat. March 22nd, 10-2
at the G2G track in Prairieville with registration, orientation
and tryouts for the coming year. Applicants will need to bring
bike, full race gear a sponsoring adult and a copy of their most

Editor/reporter/photographer Roy Jenkins was hospitalized Feb
19th for 4 days due to an injury incurred while practicing on
his race bike. He suffered a fractured pelvis and dis-located
hip. He is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
Mississippi star Johnny
Moore leads all racers with victories in 4 different classes in
round 2 of the Miss/Lou/Al Challenge Cup Series held at Wildwood MX in Kentwood, LA.

Louisiana native Kevin Windham for winning the Houston
Supercross on Feb 16th, 2008! This puts the local Pro firmly
into 2nd place behind Chad Reed and in front of Tim Ferry.
