food, music, famous racers, track and fun) will took place on April 21-22. Diamond Don's 10th annual Riverport

Round 2 of the D-19 Winter Series
was fantastic! It was held on Jan 22 at Down South MX in New
Iberia. There was great dirt, a challenging track with lots of
big jumps and some heated competition. Pictures are up
here.
The first round of the D-19 Winter Series

Welcome
home former racer and photographer Kyle Jenkins! Kyle
will be home by June 17 after 4 years of active duty in the
Marines. He served 2 deployments, the last as an "Assaultman"
and "Machine Gunner" with the 2/6 in Marjah, Afghanastan. He'll
be starting his new life in Baton Rouge, going back to school
and settling into civilian life. May you now enjoy the country
you risked your life to protect!
There's a new track
in Louisiana that is a "throwback" track. The
Ponderosa was active in the late 70's to mid 80's. William
Lauson has re-opened and kept what was good from
the old track and added some of his own features. If you want a supercross style track with a lot of technical features and
steep jumps, this is not for you. If you want a long, safe, fast
track with a lot of turns, you have to check it out. We just had
a blast racing there on May 22. This looks like it could be the
new destination for older and vintage riders looking to extend
their mx hobby, as well as those wanting to work on their
cornering speed.

A picture just surfaced
of my son, L.Cpl Kyle Jenkins serving in Afghanistan with
the 2/6 Marines. He took a lot of these pictures for this
website when we were hanging out together. The last thing he
told me before he left is he wanted to race vintage motocross
and bow-hunt with me when he returns. He served as a turret gunner,
then a machine-gunner and assaultman. Kyle is second from the
left.

It is soooooo good to
see a picture of him. We haven't heard from him in over a month.
Come home soon son, we love you!!!!!!!

The
Southeast Vintage MX group
held another fun vintage race on July 25th at
Fast Farms MX
Park near Nashville. Not only did track owner Phillip Meyers
have a long, challenging track with lots of creative features,
but had a hot air balloon giving rides on Sat. night to view the
mountainsides. Pictures are up
here.
The rough draft is done
in the second book of the Dirt Bike Ike series.
This young adult novel has more mature themes and is longer than
Ike 1. Join Ike Hebert as he survives failing 10th grade, being
put in jail in New Orleans, then going to the south
Louisiana swamp on a Choctaw Indian reservation to solve a
murder mystery. All this happens while pursuing his dream to be
a National Champion Motocross Racer. This time his mentor is a
tough, no-nonsense Marine Scout-Sniper. Dirt Bike Ike 2,
Pursuing the Dream will be out this Fall.

the first 24 chapters here.
