The rough draft is done in the second book of the Dirt Bike Ike series. This young adult novel has more mature themes and is longer than Ike 1. All this happens while pursuing his dream to be a National Champion Motocross Racer. This time his mentor is a tough, no-nonsense Marine Scout-Sniper. Dirt Bike Ike 2, Pursuing the Dream will be out this Fall.

Modern MX racers discover a secret in Alabama - vintage tracks are challenging and fun! What used to be a vintage only race now attracts modern racers in droves. Running Brand GP MX had over 260 entries on Nov. 15th. Located in northern AL near the GA border, this farm, turned MX track is over 2 miles long and 40 feet wide. It features lots of elevation changes, long, fast straights, grassy fields, rocky downhill's, off-cambers all over the place and even a water crossing! This is what motocross tracks were like in the earliest days in Europe - a cross between MX and scrambles.  It was a blast, racing a REAL old-school motocross track, believe me! For pictures go here. They only race twice in the spring and twice in the fall and will close out 2009 with a race on Dec. 6.
