The High School
Motocross Program is in high gear the next 2 weeks as one team
travels to compete in the NMA National Amateur MX
Championship in Ponca City, OK in the race rig with Mac
Edmonston. Another group went with Billy Orazio to the big
Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio to race vintage and
raise awareness for HSMX. Still a third group will go to the AMA National Amateur MX
Championship at Loretta Lynn's in Hurricane Mills, TN. One
HSMX coach, Stuart McAvoy will be competing for a National
Championship in the Senior class. I'll
be traveling up there on my 750 Nighthawk to do research and
gather pictures for book #2 of "Dirt Bike Ike" which will
culminate there. We'll also try to raise awareness for HSMX.

Wildwood MX's July
4th race was entertaining. The track was sweeeeet as usual, the
competition was fierce and the rain held off, with the exception
of a little sprinkle late during the money class race which kept
the dust down. A track record was set. Results and report
Here.

The Randy Fairburn
Benefit race was a huge success. Kevin Windham and
his family spent the weekend with over 450 riders. Though a
storm stopped Sunday's race, over $20K was raised to help this
popular Senior racer deal with medical bills from his recent
battle with cancer. Continue to pray for Randy's recovery.

seen through the eyes of a 9th grader who is about to drop out
of school due to learning disabilities and lack of interest.
When he meets up with an outcast owner of a junk yard he builds
a vintage motocross bike, moving toward his dream to become a motocross
champion. He learns lessons along the way about friendship,
sacrifice, self-discipline, perseverance, hard work,
forgiveness, dealing with bullies and growing up. With the help

Diamond Don's 6th
Annual Riverport Vintage National was a huge success. This
is the biggest vintage celebration this side of Mid-Ohio. Even
VMX magazine was on hand from Australia to file a report and
they say they don't have a vintage race that big. Sponsored by
AHRMA's Legends of MX, CC and Trials Series, competition dirt
bikes from as far back as the 50's were on hand to compete,
right up to the early 80 models. MX Pioneer Women were on hand
to race and be honored. MX Legends Brad Lackey, Chuck Sun, Marty
Tripes and Donnie Hansen were on hand to race and hang out. The
Vintage and Post Vintage Race Reports
are now up with results. For more info on Diamond Don's

The Southeast Region National
Championship qualifiers for 2008 is history. This

The 2008
Daytona Supercross
will go down in history as one of the most exciting, but
slow races ever as torrential rain turned the RC designed track
into the kind of slop that 4wd trucks like to run through. LA
native Kevin Windham won for the first time out of 8 tries,
passing Chad Reed a few turns before the finish line. OK rookie
Trey Canard continues to impress with another victory in the
Lites class.
